UE's English-Only Policy is designed to help you maximise your English language practice throughout your studies.
We believe it's important for students to speak English at all times during class. Full immersion in an English-speaking environment gives you the best opportunity to build your language skills, which is why we actively enforce this policy in all classes.
If a student does not comply with the English-Only Policy, the following penalties apply:
First breach: The student receives a verbal warning.
Second breach: The student receives a second verbal warning.
Third breach: The student is removed from class for the remainder of the day, recorded as absent, and required to meet with the Academic Manager.
Fourth breach: The student's enrolment may be cancelled. In this case, UE will issue written notice outlining the reasons for cancellation, and the student has the right to appeal through UE's internal Complaints and Appeals process within 20 working days. The student's enrolment will remain active while the appeal is in progress, unless there are immediate wellbeing concerns.
For further information, please refer to our policies, procedures and forms page, or contact our team with any questions.
